Introduction

Children are always welcome in all of our classes, however we also offer this special class for kids and their dogs.   Your dog must be a friendly dog. This is not a class for dogs that rush at other dogs or people when they see them.
Call (389 4065) or email for other class suggestions if you think your dog may currently be too wild for this class. Check our other dog training courses

Training Method

Positive dog training methods is where we reward the dog for good behaviour. This is perfect for kids because dogs are not pushed into position or punished physically, they are just rewarded for great behaviour. Physical punishment or jerking the leash does not play any part of our training. It just doesn't pay either for the dog or for children. Building a positive relationship is vital for having fun with your dog, and training.

We help kids learn how to make a dog want to cooperate. A lot of the training can be done silently! Our dog training methods means that if the dog doesn't do what is asked, the dog just doesn't get the reward. That's it !! No yelling, no force. This is how many animals who cannot be leashed, like dolphins or other zoo animals have been trained for years and years. Now it's the dog's turn and he'll love you for it.

Our classes

Level 1: This is a 4 week course to give a 'taste' of how to teach your dog to do some of the behaviours that you'd like to see in your companion animal. First your dog needs to learn some basic manners, then you can teach more advance tricks. Each class has a minimum of 3 dogs

What will your dog learn? You will learn to teach your dog to pay attention when asked, greet politely, come when called, walk on a loose leash and lie down and stay, shake hands, roll over...etc... .
Management skills, socialization and problem solving will also be stressed. Learning how to read a dog's body language, and some TTouch will be introduced.

Classes are small in size, fun for you and your dog and very effective.
